The forerunner of the Graduate Institute of Clinical Pharmacy (GIOCP) at National Taiwan University (NTU) was the master program in Hospital Pharmacy at the Graduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, NTU. NTU GIOCP has been established since 2000 to keep pace with the trends in pharmacy education for nurturing professionals to devote to clinical services, education, and improving quality of drug therapy as well as clinical research in Taiwan.
The researches at NTU GIOCP is clinically-oriented, focusing on theories and practices of clinical pharmacy and pharmacy administration, including medication efficacy and safety, drug-drug interaction, patient compliance, drug utilization evaluation, pharmacokinetics, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacy administration, social/behavioral science and pharmaco-genomics.
The faculty of the Institute consists of 5 associate professors, 1 assistant professors, and 1 lecturer. Our research programs are mainly funded by grants from the National Science Council and Department of Health.
The publications and abstracts accepted by local and international scientific journals and conferences are more than one hundred during 2006-2009. Generally, GOICP conducts researches through collaboration between pharmacy and medicine and acts as a bridge for basic and clinical sciences.
