Abstract: Most of the previous studies about nano-magnetic particles regarding to the stem cell differentiation were focusing on the effect to adipogenic, chondrogenic, and osteogenic differentiation capability. However, the conclusion is not quite unique and depending on different center and conditions. Recently, some papers also mentioned that MR magnetic field had negative effect to the growth of chondrocytes. Cell therapy become one of the main trend for the treatment of central nervous system disorders.However, there is a lack of result to show what is the effect of the nano-magnetic particles and magnetic field to the stem cell-derived neurons.This is a 2-year research. In the 1st year of this study, we have to perform the process to induce the neuronal differentiation of MSC. After confirmation of morphology with conventional H&E stain, we shall perform characterization of the stem cell-derived neuronal differentiation with immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry, RT-PCR, and western blot with and without magnetic field.In the 2nd year of this study, we repeat the same study with SPIO (Resovist) labeling MSC. So comparison of this study with the one done on 1st year, we can understand the effect of SPIO on the neuronal differentiation capacity of MSC with and without magnetic field. Finally we shall examine labeling neuron with MR system to see if we can detect the neuron with MR technique in vitro.
