Abstract
摘要:〈設計師想像力的衡量、觸發與培育〉是一個為期三年、兼具學理與實務的研究計畫,其研究目的包括:(1)針對國內知名的視覺設計師與數位媒體設計師,探索其想像力的衡量、觸發與培育;(2)比對視覺與數位媒體等兩類設計師,其想像能力、觸發與培育的異同;以及(3)回饋設計教育在想像力發掘與培育的教學輔導策略,並辦理設計想像力增進工作坊以擴大計畫成果的分享。
在第一年間(2015/08-2016/07),研究團隊將基礎於想像力指標的累積成果,首先以10位設計師焦點座談方式,探究出觸發想像力的潛在機制,並據此開發研究工具和實驗程序,邀請國內知名視覺與數位媒體等兩類設計師各10位(共20位),參與想像力衡量實驗,透過想像力指標的達成實驗以探索其想像力的觸發機制與培養方式,並有計劃地在國內外學術研討會和期刊發表論文以分享研究成果。在第二年間(2016/08-2017/07),研究團隊將在國內首度將腦神經學術領域整合進入想像力研究,調整與設計原先實驗程序,應用非侵入式無線腦電波圖儀(Wireless Ectroencephalography, WEEG)蒐集另外20位知名設計師發揮想像力時的電波實驗資料,特別是檢驗不同腦皮質區的腦波強度和發放位置。本期工作將包括必要的前期反覆測試與修正,和後期增補測試的作業,並系統性地發表論著以分享研究所得。在第三年間(2017/08-2018/07),研究團隊將針對前兩年的資料進行統整和對照,分析比較出視覺與數位媒體等兩類設計師,其想像能力和觸發的異同,並邀請並完成12位國內知名視覺與數位媒體設計教育學者之專家座談,針對過去兩年研究資料和最終比對分析,探索在不同設計領域中想像力的培育方式。本期亦將發展潛在的想像力激發教學輔導策略,並以設計想像力增進系列工作坊的型式,將本計畫研究成果回饋到各個設計教育場域中。
本計畫的完成預期將有以下學術貢獻:(1)透析視覺與數位媒體等兩類設計師的想像力能力衡量、觸發與培育之道;(2)比對並確知前述兩類設計師想像力指標、觸發機制,與培養方式的異同之處;(3)轉化研究成果為提升專業表現的教學策略;(4)開發並執行想像力增進系列工作坊以具體擴散研究成果;(5)發表研究成果於國際指標學術研討會與知名期刊;以及(6)加惠各設計專業領域之學校教育,並可應用於文化創意產業之選才聘任和教育訓練。
Abstract: “The Assessment, Stimulation, and Cultivation of Designers’ Imaginative Capacity” is a three-year research project. This project aims to: (1) develop a series of experiments to assess the stimulation and cultivation of the imaginative capacity of visual designers and digital media designers; (2) compare and contrast the stimulation and cultivation of the imaginative capacity among these designers; and (3) provide feedbacks to different design education programs regarding the instructional and guidance strategies, and host several imaginative-capacity enriching workshops to expand the research outcomes of this project.
During the first year (2015/08-2016/07), the research team will first host two rounds of focus group discussion with 10 designers to realize the potential stimuli of imaginative capacity. The team will then invite 10 well-known visual designers and digital media designers respectively (20 in total) to assess the stimulation and cultivation of their imaginative capacities by using 10 experiments. The experiments will be developed according to the 10 imaginative-capacity indicators provided by previous studies, and the designer participant will be tested to achieve each imaginative-capacity indicator through the experiments. The team will share and publish the research results regularly. During the second year (2016/08-2017/07), the team will incorporate the know-hows of neurobiology field into the present study. The 10 experiments will be embedded in noninvasive WEEG (Wireless electroencephalography) techniques to determine the relative strengths and positions of electrical activity in the different brain regions of 20 designer participants while they perform the imaginative-capacity experiments. The research tasks during this period also include several rounds of pretests and adjustments, and the necessary amendments during the analysis phase. The team will continually publish the findings through various academic channels. During the third year (2017/08-2018/07), the research team will compare the imaginative capacities among these three types of designers, and invite 12 renowned scholars in the field of design education to consult with cultivation methods of imaginative capacity. The research outcomes will be synthesized becoming a set of instructional and guidance strategies. The research team will then apply these strategies for developing several imaginative-capacity enriching workshops, and provide feedbacks to different design education programs.
The accomplishment of this three-year project is expected to reach the following contributions: (1) understanding the assessment, stimulation, and cultivation of the imaginative capacity of visual designers and digital media designers; (2) understanding the differences of the imaginative capacities among these two types of designers; (3) transforming research outcomes to become a set of practical strategies using for talent development in design education; (4) developing and conducting a series of imaginative capacity enrich workshops to extent the research outcomes; (5) publishing research outcomes in the domestic and international conferences and journals; and (6) improving diverse design education programs, and innovating the domestic cultural and creative industry and promoting the national competitive advantages.
