摘要：本計畫之目的在於輔助研究蜜蜂生理行為學之研究平台開發，近年來世界各地發生蜜蜂大量消失的事件，研究人員將此一現象稱為蜂群衰竭失調症候群(Colony Collapse Disorder, CCD)，此一現象除了造成養蜂業大量的損失之外連帶影響到農作物的繁衍，造成糧食作物的種植成本提高。由於蜜蜂之生存行為與其覓食之出入巢現象有其絕對相關性，且以往的蜜蜂研究當中，蜜蜂的行為監測往往是使用人力或是價格高昂的器材進行，有耗費人力及金錢的問題存在，並無法準確及大規模的統計蜜蜂行為。因此，本計畫擬開發一套價格低廉的自動化監測系統用於統計蜜蜂出入巢的行為，由其出入巢的行為分析其覓食現象與天候變化的相關性，進而觀察其是否受特定變因影響，如電磁波或氣候變遷是否影響其生存。
Abstract: The purpose of this project is to develop a platform which can be utilized to study the physiological behavior of honeybee. Recently, researchers have found a phenomenon that a large amount of bees disappeared for uncertain reasons (weather change o electromagnetic wave) around the world. Such a phenomenon is called the “colony collapse disorder” (CCD). This phenomenon has caused significant economic loss. The most important effect is that it influences the reproduction of crops, because the pollination mostly depends on bees. It is thus necessary to find the causation of CCD. Furthermore, a relationship was found between the activities of bees and the frequency of the bees entering and leaving the nests, so it is greatly necessary to develop a monitoring system for the bees. In the past, monitoring techniques largely depended on manually operating expensive machines, and it may not possible to accurately and extensively collect and analyze the behavior data of the bees. Thus, this project will develop a low-cost automatic monitoring system to calculate the frequency of honey bees getting in and out of nest. It is expected to find the relationship among weather change, the foraging of the bees, and food sources.
