However, applications of parallel computing to finite element analysis have not been very popular due to the difficulties of rebuilding finite element analysis programs for parallel computing. Therefore, the present research has developed an object-oriented environment to facilitate the study and applications of parallel finite element computations. By using object-oriented technology, the complexities encountered in finite element computations as well as parallel computing are encapsulated and hidden from the user to ease the programming task. An easy-to-use and userfriendly interface is supported by the environment to facilitate the development of parallel finite element codes for users who only need to understand the principle of the finite element method and basic concepts of parallel computing and object-oriented programming. |
