However, the headworks are known as the critical hydraulic construction for the purpose to irrigation. To maintain the purpose of water intake steady from rivers using headworks, the resistance headworks to the flooded and structural security are necessary be assessed. In this article, three rivers such as Daan River, Daja River, and Wu River in central Taiwan are selected as the research region, and 15 agricultural irrigation headworks structure are adopted to assess the safety include some items of dumping, sliding, and base load analyses using theoretical methods. Moreover, this study further use the one-dimensional hydrodynamic model (HEC-RAS) to simulate the potential flooded in seven different discharge cases of return periods from 2-year to 200-year. The research results show that the dumping coefficient of all headwork is meet with the sliding standard, and the base compressive stress was less than the carrying capacity of the soil; therefore, there is no any subsidence risk. The structural safety analyses refer all headwork is safe and durable. However, the hydraulic simulation results show that the there are one, and two sites have a potential flooded risk respectively in the return period of discharge of 2-year, and 5-year. Another site is flooded when the discharge occurred in return period of 10-year; two sites are occurred in 20-year; others headworks are not influenced even discharge occurred in the return periods from 2-year to 200-year. |
