However, if the smart device camps on both NB-IoT and LTE protocols, more power is consumed in the interworking of two protocols. In this paper, we proposed Protocol to Protocol Switching Mechanism (P2PSM) to have the smart devices most likely to use NB-IoT protocol for purpose of power saving. The analytical model and simulation experiment are also provided to investigate the performance of P2PSM. The analytical model is validated against the simulation experiment which the error falls in 1%. © 2018 IEEE. |
