Compound 1 possesses an unprecedented skeleton having a 5/7/7/5/7/5/6/5-fused octacyclic ring system. The structure of 1 was determined by 2D NMR techniques (COSY, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY) and was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis. Schinarisanlactone A (1) exhibited significant anti-HIV activity. ? 2011 American Chemical Society. |
