A large number of deep-seated landslides were induced, and the landslide debris often caused debris flows in the basin subsequently. The deep-seated landslides were identified in the case study debris flow river basin using aerial photos and LiDAR data. The stability and topographic analyses were conducted to estimate the potential failure depth. The potential debris volume associated with landslides was calculated accordingly. The topographic analysis was conducted using multiscale remote sensing data including aerial photos, satellite images, DEM, and the LiDAR data, which provided estimation of sediment transportation of the landslides. The analysis provided satisfactory results for estimating the landslide volume and sediment transportation in the study area. The landslide volume remained on the slope would continue to slide into the river providing debris source for subsequent debris flow and sediment transportation when heavy rainfall events occur. ? 2017 19th ICSMGE Secretariat.
