本研究計劃目的在探討活性葉酸對產蛋雞之產蛋性能及蛋品質之影響。選產蛋正常之三十五週齡白色來亨蛋雞60 隻，飼予低葉酸之基礎飼糧及各添加1 ㎎/㎏氧化型與還原型葉酸之供試飼糧，為期八週。試驗期間收集血液及雞蛋樣本，測定：（1）血漿及蛋中葉酸含量，（2）血液及蛋黃脂肪酸組成。結果顯示，血漿及蛋黃中葉酸含量，葉酸添加組顯著(p< 0.05 )高於對照組; 產蛋率以餵食還原型葉酸組為最佳，葉酸添加組顯著優於對照組。蛋黃中之脂肪酸組成則各組間無顯著差異，但 omega-3 多不飽和脂肪酸的次亞麻油酸、二十碳五烯酸及二十二碳六烯酸在葉酸添加組有較高的趨勢。
The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of active folate on egg
productive performance and egg quality of laying hens. Leghorn laying hens of
35-week old were separated into three groups fed with corn-soybean basal diet and
supplemented with oxidized or reduced form of folate. The experimental period lasted
8 weeks. Eggs and blood were collected for samples at two week interval. Plasma and
egg yolk folate levels were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography
with fluorescence detector. Fatty acid compositions of plasma and egg yolk were also
analyzed. Folate contents in plasma and egg yolk of folate supplemental hens were
significantly higher. The egg productivity in the reduced and oxidized folates were
96.59% and 94.22%.These were significantly better than 88.93% in no folacin
supplemental group. Changes induced by folate treatments on fatty acids of egg yolk
were no difference. But n-3 PUFA increased with folate addition.
