Abstract: There was no formal specification about the domestic crop protection equipments (especially for pesticide-spraying equipments). At present the farmers do not understand whether they have used the minimum dosage in order to spray uniformly, and we also cannot know whether the pesticides would drift to the near fields and pollute there . Nowadays, the domestic using of the dosage is about 800-1200 liters of water per hectare, which is far above the average value of 200 liters per hectare in Europe. This is just a waste of waters and pesticides. Therefore, our project is
proposed for four purposes. First, domestic and international data will be collected, which are correlated with the pesticide-spraying equipment. According to the standards of pesticide-spraying equipment/machines and the countries that have already had criterions, our own rules will be formulated. Second, domestic specifications will be investigated. According to the international regular ways, correlated formats will be found and the investigation will be made before formulating. Third, pesticide-spraying equipments/machines will be used to apply pesticides actually. Depending on the difference of drop sizes between insecticides, bactericides, and herbicides, the drop sizes that crops need will be classified. Finally, the procedures of testing pesticide-spraying equipments/machines will be set up, in order to prepare for detecting. We expect to establish standards for domestic pesticide-spraying quipments/machines and can also be geared to international ones. The amount of water, the drifting of pesticides, and the pollution of environment can be reduced tremendously.
