Abstract: The purpose of this project is to develop a transplanter of pineapple
seedlings in Taiwan which is in accordance with the intelligent machines & tools and also the human-machine assistant devices in order to solve the problem of labor shortage in agriculture. The data of field for pineapple growth are: ridge width = 100 cm, row spacing = 40 cm, crop spacing = 30 cm, row on each ridge = 2. The planting method is triangular arrangement. The number of pineapples per hectare is 30,000–40,000. The height of ridge surface and length of pineapple seedling are about 40–50 cm. This length is longer than that of vegetable seedling. Therefore the height of whole mechanism for transplanter is greater. In the year of 2019 the improvement of the mulching device will be done. The planting machine will then be tested again to check its functions. A demonstration for public will also be made. A commercialized product will be finished. At last the technology of this machine will be transferred to a designated factory.
