Description
National Taiwan University is the oldest comprehensive university in Taiwan. Since the founding of the School of Nursing in the College of Medicine in 1956, master’s degree and doctoral programs have been established, and the department has become the most influential nursing education school in Taiwan. Due to the needs of an aging society and a societal focus on long-term care, the College of Medicine founded the Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing in September 2018 to prepare extraordinary nursing care providers who have already attained a bachelor’s degree and have enthusiasm for nursing care.
The department seeks to impart theoretical knowledge in students and improve their abilities in thinking and problem solving and expects graduates to become competent and esteemed nursing professionals. In the future, the department aims to integrate teachers, teaching, and equipment resources from the Yunlin and Taipei campuses to strengthen the teaching of adult education. The department values students with high aptitude, high motivation, and high internal drive to succeed, and teaching strategies such as clinical situation simulations, a problem-solving orientation, and interdisciplinary learning are used to nurture professional nursing talents who are able to deal with the major health issues in society. We hope these professionals will be well-equipped and ready to enter the nursing field and meaningfully contribute to the well-being of society.
