過去呼氣偵測肺癌的研究結果缺乏一致性,而難以廣為應用,我們將利用呼吸體學,去除干擾因素,大量的收集各期別肺癌病人呼出的氣體,包含揮發性的有機氣體與無機氣體,透過機器學習,建立一個非侵入性的檢測方法來早期偵測肺癌,評估治療效果,預見疾病復發,並進一步探討呼出氣體成為生物標誌的生理病理機轉。此研究的成功可望讓肺癌的偵測與治療,能更廣為被大眾接受,幫助早期診斷早期治療,協助晚期患者能看到曙光,進而挽救生命,降低肺癌引起的醫療成本,研究成果能達成學術發表與人才培育,並應用在未來更新的生醫感測元件的建立。
