Abstract
Because of the development of large
scale storage devices and broadband
communication, the technology trend of
multimedia signal processing is from
compress technology to transmission,
interactivity, database, and intellectual
property management and protection, and
from waveform based signal processing to
intelligent signal processing. This trend is
also the target of this project. In this project,
a complete intelligent video compression
and transmission system will be developed.
It includes four main parts: intelligent
preprocessing, intelligent video coding,
intelligent video transmission, and
platform-based hardware architecture of
video coding system. The new techniques
developed in this project can be the key and
base technology of the future intelligent
multimedia processing.
