Abstract
The switch of dominance from wildtype-specific to variant specific minicircles in arsenite-resistant L. major with DNA amplification resembles the pattern as those described for L. m. amazonensis. In the maxicircle, sequence rearrangements on the sequence of the genes in the coding region and the sequence changes in divegent regions of maxicircle remain be determined. This report delineate however one important question that transkinetoplastidy[8-10 ] as described in L. m. amazonensis can be found in other Leishmania species too.
