Abstract
We succeed synthesize dipolar biphenyl diimide derivatives. Intramolecular photoinduced charge transfer can be efficiency by restricting biphenyl group to make it more conjugate. We observe photophysical and electrochemistry property of biphenyl imide by substitutent group effect. The charge transfer property of biphenyl diimide induce hydrogen bond formation with alcohol to quench fluorescence; Discusses us by the electrochemistry to know that, the molecular structure (dihedral angle of biphenyl group) have the very heavy influence to the electrochemistry. When the dihedral angle is small enough, the electron can be more efficiency resonance on biphenyl group, and the electropolymerization don’t occur. Contrary, when the dihedral angle is big enough, the compound can be electronpolymerization.
