Abstract
In this paper, we propose an approach that structure the given query as a taxonomy, called a query taxonomy, from the user's perspective. The proposed approach is based on an unsupervised classification method, which uses the dynamic Web as the training corpus. With query taxonomy, users can browse relevant Web documents more conveniently and comprehensibly. Based on the proposed approach, we empirically build a search engine system, LiveConcept, and verify the feasibility and the effectiveness of the system after a series of user study. © 2007 IEEE.
