Abstract
A theoretical relationship was derived among the number of trials averaged (N), initial signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and correlation coefficient (r). The validity of this relationship was tested with a simulated signal with different amounts of noise. By selecting 0.95 as an acceptable r value, the adequate average number could be determined for different SNR conditions.
