Abstract
Reaction of 1-nitroso-2-naphthol (HL) with ruthenium trichloride afforded the facial isomer of [RuII(L)3]- (1), which has been isolated as the triethylammonium salt. Using [RuII(L)3]- as a tridentate ligand, a heterometallic trinuclear complex, viz., [{Ru(L)3}2Ni] (2), has been synthesized.
