Abstract
For the view points of the recycled water cultural system and the mass balance managements in water environment ,this study made a valveless automatic
backwashing hydraulic design to remove a part of sludge for keeping a steadily ammonia and nitrogen removal efficiency to 65-80% on the biofilter. To use the filtration
hydraulic theory and the backwashing theory, montoring a head loss flux and cave ratio
flux on the bed filter, the backwashing cycle time series and a steadily removal efficiency could be controlled. During the filter run the accumulated floc on the filter bed slowly builds a back pressure, which cause the backwash pipe to rise. Through water quality analysis including suspended solid concentration & size distribution counting and particle/solution organic nitride concentration test and the hydraulic tests, we decided the filtration rate and period, combination and thickness of filter media. period of backwash and flow rates. Those results can applied to develop any fish culture system in water recycling reuse.
