Abstract
This paper describes an energy management scheme for a hybrid fuel cells scooter. Fuel cells using pressurized hydrogen provide the source of electricity, while the Lithium polymer battery serves as the storage and boost source of the vehicle when needed. The algorithm is designed to maximize fuel economy without sacrificing the performances of the vehicle. The proposed method allows the fuel cell system to operate at highest efficiency of operating point. Therefore, the maximum fuel economy is obtained. The algorithm is implemented on the central computer of the vehicle and experiments show good agreement with the design target and simulation results.
