Abstract
The analyses on the environment
characteristics in a catchment help to
realize the dynamic trends of the
geomorphological agents. It is essential
to establish the model of short term
terrace evolution. Upper part of Lan-
Yang Chi catchment is the study area.
This research analyze the data of
rainfall, water discharge and sediment
loads in order to obtain the fundamental
information about geomorphological
agents in the study area.
The rainfall are affected by
typhoons and the north-east monsoon
according to rainfall data between 1982
and 1997. The relationship of linear
regression model and power regression
model with R2 between 0.2-0.4 are not
fit for the relationship between rainfall
and water discharge. However, the
power regression model fits the
relationship between water discharge
and suspended load.
In the short term time scale, it’s
difficult to deduce the model of short
term terrace evolution.
