Abstract
This thesis focuses on construction of predicted pathways database system. It is getting important to know the co-working of genes and gene’s product. However, using conventional methods to construct the pathway which describes relationship of genes is too slow to satisfy the urgent demand. To find an efficient method to construct pathway automatically will be helpful for biochemist. There are some databases which predict metabolic pathways but not signal transduction pathways. In the thesis we use the ontology of genes which is already in Homologene database, the homologous relationship predicted by BLAST based on the sequence similarities, and use the function of gene products generated by KNN classifier, in order to construct the correspondence of genes for new pathway generation. On the other hand, it is important to visualize the predicted pathways. We use compound graph which can describe pathway well as our system data architecture. The proposed predicting system provides the biochemists a good solution to discover new pathways effectively and efficiently.
