Abstract
This research is to analyze the internal transmission in channel and the cell performance of membraneless hydrogen peroxide micro fuel cell in a Y-shaped microchannel by commercial software CFDRC. It solves governing equations through finite volume method. To get the effect of each parameter through each species concentration in the cell and the cell performance and the rate of utilizing fuel under each parameter. It could be the reference basis of the design in the future. Resulting from simulation, increasing the concentration improves the cell performance and the cell initial voltage drop could be less. High flow rate could get better current density, but the rate of utilizing fuel would be less. We can find out the most proper choice according to the result from simulation. Geometrically, increasing the thickness of the catalyst of anode or cathode could improve the cell performance, especially to cathode. Increasing the channel aspect ratio would increase the cell internal resistance to decrease the cell performance. It could be a reference basis by finding a critical value according to the result from simulation. To change the channel length would influence the average current density. Long length under high flow rate could make the distribution of the current density uniform. The catalyst distribute in the bottom could get better cell performance than in the side. It could increase the total current value effectively by increasing the catalyst.
