Abstract
Explicit solutions of the stress intensity factors due to non-elastic strains and body forces are obtained for a crack extending dynamically at steady state through an anisotropic elastic body. The examples of non-elastic strains include thermal expansion, phase transformation, initial strains, plastic strains, etc. Specific results are given for creeping materials, a uniform distribution of transformation strains and discrete dislocations. It is shown that the stress intensity factors of tractions applied on the crack faces are independent of the crack velocity and the elastic constants. © 1988.
