Abstract
This is a project for doing researches on
ultrasonic imaging techniques. Its main
purpose is to develop imaging techniques for
improving the image quality of the first
ultrasound scanner built by ITRI two years
ago. Another purpose is to assist the industry
in the developing of the next-generation
scanner.
The major efforts are developing phased
array imaging techniques this year. A convex
array scan system with 32 elements in
transmit and single element in receive is
established.
With this system, several experiments
are performed and some results have been
achieved: beam-pattern measurement, array
axial response measurement, B-mode
imaging, second harmonic imaging.
