Abstract
The special political environment makes how Singaporean government treats its media: always suspicious of the intention of the later and thus develops numerous ways to manage or even control the media. However, what do people work in such environment think of their jobs and the government under which they’re working?
And how do the scholars and reporters from overseas look at the mechanism and system of such an “air-conditioned nation”? The writer managed to analyze how the media policy was made in term of Singaporean unique political history and interviewed local media people in Singapore. Based on the documents released from Singaporean government and other organizations, the author tried to outline the direction that the Singaporean media is going to in the future.
