Abstract
In this study, a novel compact distributed-lumped microstrip bandpass filter composed of two quarter-wavelength resonators is proposed. By introducing an additional capacitive coupling between two quarter-wavelength resonators, two attenuation poles at upper and lower stopbands may be suitably inserted in a quarter-wavelength filter. The bandpass filters are carefully examined, theoretically and experimentally.
For the distributed-lumped microstrip bandpass filter, the high-frequency and low-frequency attenuation poles are away from the passband. Therefore, to improve the performance in stopband, we make some modifications such that the high-frequency and low-frequency attenuation poles may more close to the passband. The theory proposed is verified through experiment results. In addition, this thesis also proposes some approaches which can reduce the filter size effectively.
