Abstract
Many treatments such as thermal annealing, slow drying and adding additives had been promoted to increase the efficiency of polymer solar cells based on P3HT:PCBM blend system. However, the methods mentioned above are hard to control polymer material order. The method of using horizontally external electric field on polymer thin films is not only arranging polymer materials regularly, but also improving morphology of P3HT:PCBM thin films. Therefore, the device applied with electric field has better performance which power conversion efficiency (PCE) raises from 3.04% to 3.46%. © 2011 IEEE.
