Abstract
The sensation of pain is a fundamental
function of a living subject. To identify
which of the two groups of the C-fiber
conducts pain and/or warm we used the
techniques of the single-fiber recording and
the antidromic collision test. The
conduction velocity of the action potentials
recorded could not be determined by our
results of the single-fiber recording.
Nevertheless, the results from the latter
technique suggest that the two types of
sensation were transmitted by both of the
two groups of the C-fiber. Additionally,
the dematomes of the rat’s tail were
determined and a thermo and a mechanical
stimulators were implemented during the
project.
