Abstract
This investigation continues Clanet’s study 【23】to see whether the classic theory can be used in micro scale water jets. The work is an experimental investigation of fluidheets flow generated by laminar water jets impacting solid discs in atmosphere environment. The main work can be divided into three parts:1) Whether classic theory can be used in micro scale water jets2)The effect of gravity on the water bells3)The effect of surface tensionhe results reveal that (1)classic theory can be used in micro scale water jets. (2)theffect of gravity can not be negative in the formation of water bells. (3)the effect ofurface tension is a important characteristic in the shapes of water bells
