Abstract
Abstraction is probably the most important technique for verification. As the systems needed to convince their correctness increase, automated verification becomes a more important research. Model checking is an efficient methodology for automatically deciding if a finite state program satisfies its specification. However, state space explosion limits the applicability of it. Abstraction provides one solution to fix this problem. For a given concrete program, abstraction is a mapping such that a smaller model would obtain. We show the consequence that using interval analysis for variable abstraction may be useful to reduce much state spaces. Some principles of abstraction interpretation are also read here.
