Abstract
The risk assessment of the construction of offshore wind farm is studied by using the fault tree analysis method in this research. The first step is to collect information on offshore wind farm construction and the relevant information of operation. The data collected was used to identify the key factor and problem of the offshore wind farm in the planning phase, construction phase and the operational phase. Then the event tree method was used to establish the event tree diagram at various stages. The fault tree diagram can be established by the corresponding event trees. And the Reliability Workbench software from Isograph software was used to create the event tree and fault tree diagrams at various stages.
The diagrams of the event tree built by the Workbench software from Isograph software are stored as a MySQL database. A searching program was developed to build a fault tree automatically by searching the diagrams of the event tree stored in the MySQL database.
