Abstract
Abstract
The dynamic characteristics and responses of a surface or elevated railway to a high-speed train have been established and presented in this thesis. The railway is analytically modeled as an infinite or finite Timoshenko beam on viscoelastic foundation or parallel-beam system that is simply support and inserted with a viscoelastic layer. A high-speed train is analytically modeled as a sequence of moving loads or a moving train including a car body, bogies, wheels, vertical primary suspension systems, vertical second suspension systems. Finally, the difference between the dynamic characteristics, resonant curves and responses of a surface or elevated railway to a high-speed train or a sequence of moving loads is presented, which may be useful in the practical design of railway engineering.
