Abstract
Second-harmonic generation was studied with quantum mechanics. The explicit form of the nonlinear current was derived for the high-frequency regime. The efficiency of second-harmonic generation was also discussed. A nonlinear surface-plasmon mode was found. © 1989 The American Physical Society.
