利用市售ELISA套組檢測2000年與2003-2005年間台灣地區雞隻血清之鼻氣管桿菌(Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale)抗體，結果2000年北台灣5縣白肉雞場陽性率為48.6%(17/35)，有色雞場陽性率為77.1%(27/35)，雞隻陽性率則分別為14.1%(61/434)及37.1%(174/469)；2003-2005年台灣地區白肉雞、有色雞、蛋雞及種雞之雞隻陽性率分別為29.7%(221/745)、60.7%(403/664)、70.3%(204/290)及93.9%(341/363)；場陽性率則除白肉雞為78.2%(43/55)外，其他有色雞46場、蛋雞場28場及種雞36場場陽性率都是100%。調查結果顯示台灣地區之雞群已普遍有O. rhinotracheale感染。

By using a commercial ELISA kit, the positive rate of antibodies against Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale in chicken flocks in Taiwan was determined. The results showed that the flock positive rates in broilers and hybrid broilers collected from Northern Taiwan in 2000 were 48.6% (17/35) and 77.1% (27/35), respectively. The chicken positive rate was 14.1% (61/434) in broiler and 62.9% (174/469) in hybrid broiler. The antibody positive rates in broilers, hybrid broilers, layers, and breeders sera collected from Taiwan between 2003-2005 were 29.7% (221/745), 60.7% (403/664), 70.3% (204/290), and 93.9% (341/363), respectively. The flock positive rates of 46 hybrid flocks, 28 layer flocks and 36 breeder flocks were all 100%, and the flock positive rate of 55 broiler farms was 78.2%. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the serological survey of ORT infections in chickens in Taiwan, and the results indicate that O. rhinotracheale infection is common in Taiwan.
