Abstract
This thesis investigates a control IC to control a half bridge backlight inverter. The half bridge backlight inverter is used to drive a CCFL. The control IC of the backlight inverter comprises a start-up circuit, an oscillator, an output stage circuit, a protecting circuit, a control circuit and a logic circuit.
The thesis analyzes the high voltage part of the control IC and solves the drawback of the start-up circuit. The start-up circuit and the output stage is designed and simulated. The chip layout is also performed .The start-up circuit and the output stage circuit of the control IC is implemented by maximum gate to source 20V fabricating process. For power supply application with output voltage less than 30V. The power transistor integrated into the control chip could reduce area of whole system.
