Abstract
Metallic grating embedded in a waveguide thermal emitter was studied. The grating acts as a beam splitter to divide the structure into two waveguide structures with orthogonal polarization. The emission wavelength difference can be easily controlled by the SiO 2 thickness under the grating. The full width at half maximums of the peaks are 0.24 and 0.25 for the TE- and TM-polarized waveguide modes, respectively. © 2011 IEEE.
