Abstract
The large coherent acoustic-phonon oscillation in InGaN/GaN multiple quantum wells (MQW) is studied at room temperature on 14 periods. The oscillation is induced by the coupling between photogenerated carrier and the corresponding acoustic-phonon mode. After femtosecond pulse excitation from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser, the photogenerated carriers screen out the strained-induced piezoelectric field and initiate the oscillation. Large optical property oscillation through the quantum-confined Stark effect results from the piezoelectric field modulation.
