Abstract
With increasing pressure for shorter delivery schedules, space is a critical resource at construction sites. Time-space conflicts also significantly hinder the performance of interfering activities. In fact, many studies cite time-space conflicts among the major causes of productivity loss in construction. Many researches deal with time-space conflict problems, which emphasize on characteristics of time-space conflict; however, current studies lack an overall concept on efficient time-space application.
Based on the construction process, this research transfers CAD drawing into topological with the concept of space syntax and applies spatial analysis parameters to identify space attributes used to solve time-space conflicts.
A case study demonstrates the specific instance with Top-Down Method. The proposed approach tries to verify the relationship between dynamic axial line flow and the “Integration Value” and analyze time-space conflicts observed in real case.
