Abstract
NTCIR-14 FinNum task aims to disambiguate the meanings of the numerals in financial social media data from both coarse-grained taxonomy and fine-grained taxonomy. This task attracted 13 teams from 15 institutions in 6 different countries to register, received 16 submissions from 9 participants, and finally accepted 6 papers from participants. In this paper, we provide the analysis of the proposed dataset in depth, and discuss the challenges of fine-grained numeral understanding in financial social media data.
