Abstract
We report the first observation of the charmless hyperonic [Formula presented] decay, [Formula presented], using a [Formula presented] data sample recorded on the [Formula presented] resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. The measured branching fraction is [Formula presented]. Searches for [Formula presented] and [Formula presented] yield no significant signals and we set 90% confidence-level upper limits of [Formula presented] and [Formula presented]. © 2003 The American Physical Society.
