Abstract
To seek after an Arcadia or a Shangri-La is our eternal dream. Through fictions and literary works, writers create many types of Arcadias. It’s not difficult to find examples in Chinese and Japanese literatures. In this paper, we are going discuss the differences and similarities of the Arcadias represented in the Tale of Genji and the short stories of Tang Dynasty.
