Abstract
pollutants in the south Taiwan industrial
park were analyzed using the Taiwan
Emission Data System (TEDS, 1996) by
CTCI and SPECIATE1.5 database provided
by USEPA. This yields the necessary
speciated VOCs emission data to be used to
test the photochemical reaction mechanisms.
Three photochemical reaction mechanisms,
CBM-IV, RADM2, and SAPRC, were
utilized to simulate the influence of emission
characteristics on ozone formation due to the
industrial park emissions. The main
variables including VOC/NOx concentration
ratios, photolysis rate, and temperature, are
used to test the variation of ozone formation.
According to the results, the hydrocarbon
compounds emitted from the south Taiwan
industrial park reveal a characteristic
proportion of propane (32.6%), ethylene
(7.3%), styrene (5.3%), and so on. Based on
the emission situation of testing cases, the
simulation by SAPRC revealed the highest
maximum ozone concentration, and
RADM2 the lowest one. The difference is
mainly due to the different lumping method
of propane in the chemical mechanisms.
