Abstract
This paper presents topological characteristics of single motor hybrid transmission. From papers and patents, related prior art can be obtained. By prior analysis, we defined the proposed hybrid transmission system, such as a single primary motor hybrid transmission system. In hybrid transmission, there are many operating modes of transmission. With systematic research approach, the complicated topologies of operating modes can be described by base topology and sub-topology. Based on the base topology, the characteristics of admissible hybrid transmission can be obtained.
By separating multi-DOF base topology into one GKC and one ground unit, characteristics of each unit can be defined dividedly. According to the variation between base topology and sub-topology, the rigidly connections of co-axial link between base topology and sub-topology are classified into two types. One connection is that the co-axial link connects to ground link. Other connection is that two co-axial link in one GKC connect to each other. Characteristics of two connections are determined. It is believed that the admissible single motor hybrid transmission topology can be synthesized from the characteristics in future.
