Abstract
As a sub-project of the joint project entitled “A Mobile Electronic Commerce
System,” this project, named “Wireless Network Protocols for Mobile Electronic
Commerce Systems,” attempts to design wireless network protocols to enable mobile
E-commerce. We will carry out this project in a three-year span.
In the second year, we studied the scheduling technologies for WCDMA systems
and hoped to manage the system resource efficiently. In order to take the importance
of the transmission power into considerations, we propose a new scheduling criterion
which combines the transmission power and data rate concurrently for WCDMA systems. We believe that this new criterion can reflect the system resource
consumption more correctly than traditional ones which only care about time or data
rate. At the same time, we also propose a fair scheduling algorithm based on the new
criterion to manage the system resources and provide fair services for users in
WCDMA systems. At last, by simulation results, we proved that our proposed
scheduling algorithm still can provide services for users fairly when there are two
kinds of resources in the system.
