Abstract
A 9-year-old girl with dilated cardiomyopathy underwent heart transplantation. Under the standard triple-drugs immunosuppression ( cyclosporine, azathioprine, and steroid), she suffered severe hypomagnesemia and refractory arrhythmia. They were supposed to be from renal magnesium wasting caused by cyclosporine. However, these complications of renal magnesium wasting, hypomagnesemia, and arrhythmia were all corrected by replacing cyclosporine with FK506.
