Abstract
According to the Japanese experience of three modern Chinese scholars – Liang Qichao, Lin Hsien Tang and Dai Qitao, this study analyzed their thoughts on convergence through modernization from a comparative viewpoint to further discuss the similarity and divergence among their thoughts on Japan. The contents of discussion include(1)the analysis of Liang Qichao’s colonial viewpoint “self-others” during Japanese colonial period through his works of “Taiwan Voyage” and “Taiwan Poetry;(2)the analysis of Lin Hsien Tang’s thoughts communication with Liang Qichao, Itagaki Taisuke and Satou Haruo from the viewpoints of Lin Hsien Tang’s Chinese cultural virtue and his effort to fighting for Taiwan’s equality and independence;(3)the analysis of the relationships among the convergent thinking on Bushido, the belief and the revolution thinking;(4)the discussion on the similarity and divergence among the three scholars’ assimilation of foreign thoughts.
