Abstract
Not geometric but electrostatic features of the transition state serve as a paradigm for the design of antibodies that catalyze the hydrolysis of phosphate triesters. Thus, an efficient catalytic antibody was obtained with the dipolar amine oxide 1 as hapten. Potential applications of such antibodies include activation of prodrugs, disposal of insecticides, and counteraction of the toxicity of chemical warfare agents. (Figure Presented.)
